Installing tor on linux

Obtain the download link from the tor project page
You can get the compiled version but i recall you that this is the Server Linux blog and we preffer to build things from scratch:

apt-get install libevent-dev

wget https://www.torproject.org/dist/tor-0.2.8.8.tar.gz
tar zxvf tor-0.2.8.8.tar.gz
cd tor-0.2.8.8/

./configure
make
src/or/tor

mkdir /usr/local/etc/tor/
cp src/or/config/torrc /usr/local/etc/tor/

Unzipping large files in linux copied from windows

In Windows 7 i created a large ZIP file (around 15 Gigas). I wanted to move it to a linux machine and unzip it there. But once in the linux machine, it produced this error:

unzip Windows\ 7\ Clone.zip
Archive: Windows 7 Clone.zip
warning [Windows 7 Clone.zip]: 15415149290 extra bytes at beginning or within zipfile
  (attempting to process anyway)
error [Windows 7 Clone.zip]:  start of central directory not found;
  zipfile corrupt.
(please check that you have transferred or created the zipfile in the
appropriate BINARY mode and that you have compiled UnZip properly)

After trying some things i resolved it like this:

7za x Windows\ 7\ Clone.zip
7-Zip (A) [64] 9.20 Copyright (c) 1999-2010 Igor Pavlov 2010-11-18
p7zip Version 9.20 (locale=en_US.UTF-8,Utf16=on,HugeFiles=on,4 CPUs)
Processing archive: Windows 7 Clone.zip
